Christian Louboutin

Watch out all shoe lovers! Here’s a date for you diary: 28 March 2012

That’s the opening date for a new exhibition at the The Design Museum in London:  the work of shoe designer Christian Louboutin.

The glossy red soles are probably the most famous trademark for Louboutin’s shoes. But his designs range from razor-sharp stilettos to lace-up boots and studded sneakers.

'Shoes like jewellery'

He launched his first label in 1991 and his original aim was ‘to make shoes that are like jewels’. And it’s still is! Just look at these pics!

The exhibition will explore how Christian Louboutin has transformed the design of the shoe  over the past 20 years,. His creative approach will be profiled, together with the influences behind his work. These include the Parisian music hall, travel, art, landscape architecture and film.

The Design Museum is open daily 10am–5.45pm, admission (including a £1 voluntary charitable donation) £11 adults, under-12s free.

The Christian Louboutin exhibition runs from 28 March to 1 July.
